FULL DISCLOSURE - THIS BOOK IS AN UPSELL however, the book and the theory are absolutely A1. Russ provides an amazing look into the world of building a company online and sellling products online. Throughout the book he is trying to upsell you on his programs, his coaching, etc. Good read but idk about the upsells

Partly this book makes me respect Russell Brunson for the complex web of information that he's laid out very simply here. It's clear that Russell knows this information so well that it's become second nature to him. He's practically a walking sales letter, it seems. Unfortunately, that's also what turns me off about the book.I admit I'm not the sales-y type, and Russell is. That's great. I don't mean to fault the man for what he can't help. My central issue with Dotcom Secrets is that it leaves you with the sense that the primary goal in business isn't to provide people with a product or service that is actually helpful. Rather, it seems like the thing that Russell finds most exciting is that he can use psychology to manipulate people into giving him money. Which is cool, I guess, if you're into that.Perhaps I'm a bit too romantic (I am), but the culture of the make-money-online world, mostly centered around Clickbank, seems to have very little concern for *what* you sell, but simply that you sell it. Dotcom secret seems perpetuate this ethos. The outlandish number of very obvious grammatical errors alone on the ClickFunnels website (Russel's company) conveys the idea that you can throw any elementary sales pitch together and, who cares, some idiots will fall for it. It all makes me feel a bit dirty.However, I do plan to plunder this book for its valuable riches (and there are many) and use them in the cause of selling something meaningful and helpful - *because* it's meaningful and helpful.

Having had an online business since January 2003, I've read many, MANY books about online marketing, and have even purchased some of the big-ticket courses, such as Jeff Walker's "Product Launch Formula" and Mike Filsaime's "Butterfly Marketing". I've even had a chance to review Frank Kern's "Mass Control" and "List Control" products. Others I've learned from include Rich Schefren, Glenn Livingston, Todd Brown, Mark Joyner, Terry Dean, Yanik Silver, Jim Edwards, Willie Crawford, Jimmy D. Brown, Dan Kennedy, and the list goes on and on.I can say, without a second's hesitation, that Russell Brunson's "DOTCOM Secrets" book trumps all of them.This book has just the right mix of high-level strategy and low-level tactics to make it a solid playbook for anyone who wants to make their online business a profitable one, while operating with the highest degree of ethics and integrity. It has shown me where I have made many mistakes along the way, and as I implement the ideas, I'm finding that it's easier to attract the right customers who resonate with my materials, and help them see the value in owning my higher-end products.The only downside to this book is that it doesn't address the technical side of things, and this means that a newbie will need to go elsewhere for the final implementation. The good news is that once you have implemented the information here, you won't have to rebuild everything again, because you'll have done it right the first time.

This book is alright. For the beginner, it puts all the online marketing strategies "online marketing gurus" like to get entrepreneurs excited about into the larger context of running an online-based business: you need to do market research; you need to build your email list with a freebie; you need to engage in email marketing; and you need to have a mix of free to high-ticket offers. There are some how-to's for each of the phases. For the welcome email series, what does a different series look like, say for a business with no paid offers yet? What should it look like for a straight up paid offer, such as the tripwire (or one-time) offer, and not Russell's invisible funnel to a webinar that the subscriber pays for if she thinks it is valuable? What are the best types of freebies? (Hint: if you got this book free from Russell, know that books are the worst types of freebies.) Formulas and examples are what make an online business "how-to" product successful.If you want an overview of how an online-based business is supposed to run like, this book is a good source, better than most introductory books out there. But look elsewhere for a "how-to" on implementing these strategies.

When Dark Horse acquired the rights to translate and reprint Moebius' work for the North American market, I think we were all expecting that the classic action/adventure/sci-fi material would come first. Dark Horse threw us a curve ball, and decided to lead off with his more philosophical and introspective work-- the stream of consciousness "Inside Moebius'" series and the sci-fi ecological meditation "The World of Edena". It's been strong, inspired work, but probably something of a shock for fans that want to see Arzach fly around on a dinosaur thing."The Art of Edena" is very much a companion to the "World of Edena" collection. There isn't much here but a few short stories and concept art that compliment the Edena series without really adding much to it. That said, I can't say that it's inessential because it's Moebius, one of the few figures in comics that deserves to have every panel scrutinized. If you liked the initial Dark Horse "Edena" volume, you'll probably enjoy this-- it dives a bit into Moebius' thought process as the series evolved. If you haven't read the initial "Edena" volume, you'll need to do so to really grasp what the supplimental material in "Art of Edena" means. (If you--gasp-- didn't like "World of Edena", then you'll have no interest in this volume, and I suspect that you have no soul.)

Way back in 1987, Marvel Comics released Jean Giraud’s “Once Upon a Star” through their Epic imprint and I immediately fell in love with the dreamlike style of Mobius. What I failed to realize was that I didn’t get the complete story because it was released in later volumes of the series which I didn’t get. Last year, I got the completion of the story in “The World of Edena”, released by Dark Horse and discovered that I liked the parts I read, better than the parts I hadn’t. Now, Dark Horse has release “The Art of Edena” as a companion book but there is a lot more here than just Edena related art.There is a whole lot of stuff in this book besides artwork and a story recap of Edena. There is an 8-page story called The Repairman. We also get a 4-page story called “Seeing Naples” which I had already read when Epic reprinted it and loved it from the moment I saw it. Along with “Seeing Naples” we get “Dying to See Naples” which is much longer at 15 pages but for me a lot less impactful. One thing to note is that “Seeing Naples” is unique in that it is the only short story in this book with dialogue. The 24-page “Montrouge Mystery” and the 23-page “Journey” aren’t really stories but are more a series of images with a loose theme. They feature a lot of 2-page spreads and are quite lovely. We also get the 23-page “Planet Once More” as well as 5 pages of stills from a CGI film made based on the short wordless story.I love the art of Jean Giraud but I do prefer when it is accompanied by an actual story. He has a very dream like feel to his art and writing but I find all these dialogue free stories somewhat forgettable. Other people may allow themselves to get lost in the artwork and obviously there are tons of art books that have not even a semblance of a story. I also own Inside Moebius which is the first of five books but I think for now I’m kind of Moebius’d out. There are a lot of other great stories by Giraud that deserve to be reprinted and I’ll probably wait for those rather than get more of the extraneous material.

This is a must have if you're a Moebius fan...I have several of his books and The Art of Edena is a great addition to my collection. Even if you're a Miyazaki fan, you will also enjoy Moebius art. Highly recommend this book and get this before the prices goes up.

Absolutely beautiful reproductions of Moebius' work. You really get a sense of his economy of line, but stunning attention to detail. The color gradiations are a revelation! This is the kind of book you have to have in your hands to truly appreciate.

Thin on substance but Moebius art work makes up for this.

Cannot deny that Moebius is and perhaps still the greatest artist and illustrator of all time.

Anyone who wants to study his work will benefit greatly from this book with a glimpse into how he thinks and works
